Privacy Policy

What we collect

Shepherd collects the following information when you create and use your account:

• Your name and email address
• Congregation member names
• Attendance dates and attendance status ("present" or "absent")

We do not collect payment card information directly — payments are handled by Stripe (see Third-party processors below).

How we use your data

Your data is used to:

• Generate AI-powered pastoral summaries for your congregation
• Deliver weekly email reports to your inbox
• Improve Shepherd's accuracy and relevance over time

Data storage

Your data is stored securely on US-based servers provided by Supabase. Access is restricted to authorized Shepherd systems and personnel only.

Third-party processors

Shepherd uses the following third-party services to provide the product:

• Stripe — handles payment processing. Stripe never sees your congregation data.
• Resend — delivers your weekly email reports.
• Anthropic — powers AI report generation. Attendance data is sent to Anthropic's API to generate pastoral summaries.

These processors handle your data only to perform the services listed above, and are bound by their own privacy and data security obligations.

Data sharing

Shepherd does not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers or any third party for marketing purposes.

Congregation member data

You, the pastor, control all congregation member data uploaded to Shepherd. Shepherd does not contact your congregation members directly, send them emails, or share their information with any third party beyond the processors listed above.

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account closure, data will be deleted within 30 days of a deletion request sent to hello@shepherdapp.co.

Your rights

You may access, export, or delete your data at any time by contacting us at hello@shepherdapp.co. We will respond within 10 business days.
